I’M BAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!! So I haven’t blogged in FOR-EV-ER!! I took a break and just completely dropped the ball. But here I am again! Shopping is a hobby of mine, it’s kinda my fav pastime. Seeing yellow tags on cute clothing at Marshall’s is absolutely thrilling!!!!!! But you have to be wise with your coins, right?! So, about 2-3 months ago I became CHEAP! HONESTLY, I told the Lord I wanted to be a better steward of what He has given me so I started being purposeful with my shopping. I found that you can save serious cash if you are patient and diligent! GET THE APPS!!– If you shop at…

Doing Disney- More Magic, Less Money

Doing Disney- More Magic, Less Money Walt Disney World is my absolute favorite place in the whole wide state of Florida…and we go every single year!!!! This is mostly because I love going to Disney. Something about Disney just makes me really happy, like brand new “Louis Vuitton Happy”. It takes me back to when I was four convincing my big sister not to cry on Space Mountain!!!  Even cheap-o Aaron has fallen in love with Disney… It’s like the only expensive thing I can get him to splurge on that doesn’t require a full financial report, excel spreadsheet and 10 page power point. Anyways….Someone recently asked…

    Parenting is Not Elementary

The hardest thing about being a mom is making the right decision for another person. Obviously we can make decisions for ourselves and deal with whatever outcome, but when it’s your kid, even the most simple situations can seem like major life decisions. About a year ago, we had to make the decision to enroll our daughter in Kindergarten at 4 or wait until she turned 5 (almost 6). I knew this decision would really impact a lot of things for her (her graduating class, ultimately how she ranks against her peers, etc.) and I knew there were a lot of factors to consider. (Maturity, academic level, interest in learning,…

Why New Moms Should be Snatched

Having birthed two babies has made me an expert on motherhood (j/k LMBO)… but seriously, the experiences taught me a lot. After I had Aylin I was overwhelmed by basically everything. I was tired, sad, super emotional, inefficient, and just all over the place. After having Aaron, I was cool, I knew what to expect and had a much better grasp of my emotions.  So why should every new mom be snatched? Because to me snatched means back to normal, or their new normal quickly, coping with change, well adjusted, feeling good and confident. So I want to share with you the things I did (or still wish I had…

10 Great Destinations for Family Vacations!

Growing up, the highlight of every summer was our big family vacation. My parents would take us on elaborate (I thought so at least) trips around the country in our maroon GMC Safari van. (I’m cracking up just thinking about it LOL- specifically that time my mom threw a shoe at my brother, from the front seat to the very back of the van, popping him right in his forehead). Back in my day (the ’90s) we didn’t have those fancy GPS systems, you had a map and a phone book. Starting weeks in advance my dad would pull out this colossal atlas (millennials will have to google that…

Top 10 Tip and Tricks for Traveling with Babies and Tots

Travel is essential to the soul… and it is a must for the members of The A-team. Yet for many young families the thought of flying (or going farther than Target) with young ones can seem quite daunting. In his short 2.5 years, young Aaron Williams has been on more than 14 trips. His first trip was at seven weeks to San Francisco and in his first 12 months he took about 4 vacations… not too bad for a little man. As for Aylin, I will not try to number her adventures in her five years. You’d be better off asking her, she thinks she knows everything anyway… Here…

    Welcome to Miami!

Having the travel bug means whenever we get a chance to get out of Indy we are gone (*chucks deuces*).  The Miami/Fort Lauderdale area is one of our annual destinations for the warm weather, luxurious hotels, great food and shopping. Of course there are tons of great things to see and do in the area, but it can be difficult with kids. This is why picking a family-friendly, centrally located hotel is essential. (We love places with a free breakfast but how often does that actually happen??) In our most recent visit to Miami we flew into Fort Lauderdale, grabbed a rental, and drove into Miami. Why FLL??? Because Southwest…

    Hello world, Meet the A-Team

Hey friends, welcome! Come on in, have a seat! We are the A-Team!! We are a family of four living in Zionsville, IN. Aaron and I married in August of 2009. We had no real idea what we were getting ourselves into… He was 23 and I was 22. Which is like completely unheard of these days. But here we are, eight years and two kids later and we’ve made it (BY THE GRACE OF GOD)!! Aaron is the global head of field marketing for a tech company, he travels about 159 days per year (according to Marriott’s yearly summary). From Bangalore to Basel, London to Lisbon, and lots of…
